Cuba is facing a nationwide blackout following the unexpected failure of the António Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant on Friday morning. The Cuban Ministry of Energy and Mines confirmed the outage, stating there is no timeline for restoration. Prior to this, government officials, including Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, addressed the nation about a fuel shortage causing an energy crisis. They urged citizens to limit non-essential activities and shut down high-energy appliances. Schools are closed until at least Monday.
