A cybersecurity firm warns that the DeepSeek AI app has critical security flaws, including unencrypted data transmission and insecure credential storage. The iOS version disables Apple’s App Transport Security, making users vulnerable to attacks. Sensitive data is also cached unencrypted. Governments, including New York and several countries, are banning the app due to security concerns and its ties to China. A U.S. federal ban is under consideration.
