Japanese company Hitachi Construction Machinery NV unveiled the 13-ton battery-electric ZX135-7EB excavator, designed for 24/7 operation in urban and residential areas. It uses 198 kWh lithium-ion batteries or wired grid-assist mode, lowering emissions and maintenance costs. Displayed at CONEXPO 2026, it joins Hitachi’s portfolio of electric and hydrogen-powered excavators, supporting sustainable construction and extended work hours.
