Man in search of lost bitcoin fortune wants to buy the landfill where he swears it’s buried

James Howells, a British IT worker, lost a hard drive containing over $700 million in Bitcoin after accidentally throwing it away in 2013. He believes the drive is buried in a landfill in Newport, South Wales, and has been trying for years to retrieve it. After several failed attempts to convince the city to let him dig, Howells now wants to buy the landfill to search for the drive himself. Despite his persistence, there's no guarantee he’ll find it or that it’ll work if he does.
