Polaris Dawn will push the limits of SpaceX’s human spaceflight program

After nearly three years, billionaire Jared Isaacman is returning to space with the Polaris Dawn mission, aiming to fly farther than any previous SpaceX Dragon capsule mission. The four-person crew will attempt the first commercial spacewalk at around 700 kilometers above Earth, testing Dragon's extravehicular activity capabilities and SpaceX’s EVA suits. Polaris Dawn will also explore the Van Allen radiation belt and test Starlink's space communications. The mission, part of a series aiming to accelerate SpaceX's goal of making life multi-planetary, is set to launch on August 27.
