Astronomers detected one of the brightest fast radio bursts (FRB), named RBFLOAT, and traced its origin with unprecedented precision to a star-forming arm of galaxy NGC 4141, 130 million light-years away. Lasting milliseconds, it released as much energy as the sun emits in four days. Likely caused by extreme cosmic events like magnetars, this nonrepeating FRB marks the first precise localization of its kind and opens the way for hundreds of accurate FRB detections annually.
