Researchers have unveiled a revolutionary microscope called the "attomicroscope," capable of capturing electron movement at 625 attoseconds—billionths of a billionth of a second. Developed by physicist Mohammed Hassan and his team at the University of Arizona, this device uses a laser to create ultrashort pulses from an electron beam, allowing for unprecedented imaging of molecular behavior. The attomicroscope builds on traditional transmission electron microscopes but offers far greater precision, enabling detailed studies of electron dynamics in materials and biological structures.
