Povec Optics is debuting the Povec C1 at CES 2026, the world’s first electrochromic sunglasses that change tint in one second to adapt to light conditions. Using miniaturized automotive tech, a touch-sensitive strip lets users manually adjust the lenses, which also offer UV400 protection, anti-glare, and impact resistance. Designed for outdoor sports, the glasses provide up to 28 days of battery life, IP65 water resistance, and a customizable fit with three interchangeable nose pads. The C1 addresses challenges like “dappled light” for cyclists and hits the market in May 2026, priced between $250 and $350.
