YouTuber Brian Haidet (AlphaPhoenix) built a garage-made camera that records at 2 billion frames per second, capturing light traveling through air in slow motion. Using lasers, mirrors, and fog particles, he visualized light’s one-foot-per-nanosecond speed. To reach this milestone, Haidet rebuilt his 1 billion fps setup with new optics, motors, and software. His system sweeps laser light across a sensor pixel by pixel, combining precision optics and electronics to simulate ultra-high-speed imaging once possible only in labs.
